YogaKids International, Inc., based in New Buffalo, MI, is the pioneer and leading provider of yoga to children around the world. The organization’s mission is to promote peace, health, empowerment and education. Founded in 1991 by Marsha Wenig, the YogaKids brand now has a number of award-winning products available: DVDs, CDs, games, books, shirts, yoga mats, and more. Recognized three times by the Parents’ Choice Awards, the YogaKids DVD series and subsequent products have introduced over a million families to yoga in an amazing new way. Unlike yoga for adults, the YogaKids program specifically addresses the needs and capabilities of children.
The Go Give Yoga Foundation empowers children to maximize their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being through yoga. This is accomplished primarily through providing yoga classes to children and educational tools and leadership materials to the adults who support them. Our work focuses on under-funded schools and communities in need.
Yoga sparks a growing spiral of energy through the children to their parents and to the community at large. By training adults who work with children, we maximize resources to create a sustained impact.
Great resource. I happen to love yoga a great deal, though I haven’t done it in months, but it has improved my peace of mind, general happiness, and relationships. I feel grateful to be able to do it as any autistic people have trouble with balance, and I feel it is important for me to have a “movement practice” as part of my spiritual path.
P.S. I do love the idea of maximizing children’s physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being.
